Foster

Dog Gone Home Rescue Inc. (DGH) relies heavily on the generous support & loving care fosters who open up their homes to provide a temporary place for a rescued puppy/dog to decompress and feel safe while they get ready for their next, forever home. The amount of time a foster may have the dog will vary on a case by case basis. Sometimes a dog may need a few days, and others could require weeks to allow time to heal from surgeries, or to develop trust and receive extra attention. While our dogs are in foster care, DGH will cover medical costs and also provide some furbaby essentials like food, a crate, toys and blankets.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A FOSTER FAMILY?
Opening your home to an animal in need
By definition temporary care of a homeless animal that is owned by a shelter or a rescue
Our rescue does not have a physical building, so we rely on the compassion and volunteerism of private individuals
Wanting to stand up for the voiceless and ensure the DGH’s motto “Making Their Next Home, Their Forever Home”
Socialize a dog and get to know it’s personality, enabling DGH to be the perfect match maker
Participating in crate training, on/off leash training and socialization
Caring for your foster pup like they were one of your own
why foster?
